Plasma Donation Weight Requirements — Minimum Weight by Center
According to official FDA guidelines and BioLife eligibility parameters, there are specific weight requirements for plasma donation. These requirements help ensure donor safety and determine compensation rates.
Minimum Weight Requirements
- Minimum weight: 110 pounds (50 kg)
- Valid government-issued ID required for verification
- Weight is checked at each visit
Weight-Based Compensation Tiers
According to published BioLife compensation schedules, donor pay may be determined by weight tiers. Heavier donors may qualify for higher per-donation compensation rates due to larger plasma volume.
- Standard tier (110-149 lbs): base compensation rate
- Mid tier (150-174 lbs): increased rate
- Upper tier (175+ lbs): highest rate
